Todd Yaquinto
Ever since I can remember, I’ve been taking things apart, putting them back together, or building something entirely new. When I wasn’t working with my hands, I was drawing, writing, or playing one of many instruments. I learned early on that my mind is a deeply creative space—and building became one of the most natural outlets for that creativity.
My first real project, a bookcase built far too young and far too confidently, was an absolute disaster. But it taught me something important: every build is a lesson. From that point on, each project got better, more precise, and more intentional.
Over the years, that curiosity and drive evolved into a true jack-of-all-trades approach—though I like to think of it as a jack of all mediums. From ground-up construction and renovations to welding, fabrication, and functional art, I enjoy working across disciplines and solving problems in creative, hands-on ways.
For me, building isn’t just about structures—it’s about ideas, craftsmanship, and turning vision into something real.
1853 Full Renovation
This is my renovation of an 1853 Western Reserve–style farmhouse. I rebuilt the home from the exterior frame inward—re-leveling the structure, adding ground-up additions, and restoring it to modern standards while preserving its historic exterior character and keeping small hints inside. I completed the entire project independently: creating the vision, drafting the plans, pulling permits, and managing inspections. I executed every phase of the build myself, including framing, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, drywall, windows, roofing, and all exterior work such as siding, moulding, and trim—down to the last screw—bringing new life to a historic home.
Ground Up Construction
This is a ground-up garage construction project I completed independently. I designed and drafted the drawings, excavated and poured the footer, built the foundation, and executed every phase of construction from start to finish. I completed the framing, roofing, electrical, finishes, and all interior and exterior work myself—managing the entire build hands-on from the ground up to completion.
Commercial Wine & Tap Bar
I had just three weeks to complete what was originally scoped as four months of work. This wine and tap bar needed far more attention than it appeared at first glance. I handled the entire design and vision—from creating the logo, brand identity, and signage to reworking the layout for better flow and efficiency.
I built all new wine storage, refreshed the look and feel of the space, and completed all woodworking, electrical, and plumbing updates. I also designed and built a custom beer tower and created the large modern painting featured in the space. I’ll be updating this with better photos soon, but here’s what I have for now. A very talented local woodworker crafted the table and bar tops.
Other Builds
This is a collection of projects where I did not perform the physical construction but made meaningful updates and improvements to the plans to achieve a better overall outcome. I selected all materials, finishes, and design details for every inch of each build.
These projects had budget and material constraints, so I focused on making thoughtful, high-impact decisions and working within those limitations to deliver the best possible results.
Frank the Tank
Frank the Tank began as a simple enclosed trailer shell, built to my specifications. From there, I tore it down to the bones—reworking floor joists, fabricating custom window frames, and designing and installing both 120V and 12V electrical systems. Inside, everything was custom built, from the layout to the finishes. I also added full water and waste tanks before completing a fully bespoke interior build-out.
Frank is a heavy boy, but he delivers the comforts of home on the road. What started as a straightforward project quickly evolved as the vision continued to expand. Phase two is coming soon.
